Meetings

The 2nd meeting of the Science and Policy Committee (SPC) of North-East Asia Clean Air Partnership (NEACAP) was organized virtually on 2-3 June 2020. The meeting developed the NEACAP priority areas and workplan for operationalizing its core programmes.

Wetland in the lower Tumen River area is a biodiversity hotspot in North-East Asia, representing significant ecosystem and socio-economic values. To date there has been no systematic cooperation among the range countries (i.e. China, DPRK and the Russian Federation) on wetland conservation.

In connection with the NEA-LCCP initiative, ESCAP East and North-East Asia Office (ESCAP-ENEA) in collaboration with Gwangju Metropolitan government organized a half-day consultation workshop, focusing on cities’ policies and initiatives that were effective in reducing carbon emissions.
